My new running shoes - Adidas Adizero Tempo

I like my yellow color Mizuno Wave Elixir, and used it a lot beside jogging. It's good enough for jogging (when new), but it's getting old and I need to replace it. Since I now have 2 Mizuno, so I decide on another brand, and I chosen this:



Adidas' new running shoes series have bet positive reviews from users around the world, and the Tempo is a good looking shoes. Light, slim, and suit for moderate pronators.

I wear it for a 9KM jog tonight, and find the shoes to be quite good. The Tempo is slightly weaker in cushioning then the Elixir, but the support is better. Need to see how it goes when use it for longer mileages.

Overall, the Mizuno Wave Inspire is still most suitable for my jogging. It's best in support and control, and the sole is very durable. The only drawback is weight.

Comparing my 3 shoes:
Weight: Tempo < Elixir < Inspire
Support: Elixir < Tempo < Inspire
Cushion: Tempo = Elixir < Inspire

又停左jogging 2星期

前個星期日可能跑前熱身太大動作, 拉傷左盤骨位, 平時都會盤骨位痛, 所以停左2星期冇跑.... 即刻肥番!!

35.2C, 又跑

今日見好天, 4點零鐘又去跑. 見個天唔係好晒, 以為冇咩野, 冇帶水. 點知用呢排跑開既步速跑到中段, 個 heart rate 去到 174... 局住收慢... 全程平均 heart rate 都有 166...

番到屋企上天文台一check... 原來當時沙田係 35.2c, 冇咩風, 計埋 wind-chill effect... 盛惠過40c....

下次都係帶支水穩陣d... 唔係真係好易中暑!

買錯鞋

新買既跑鞋我本來叫8號半, 點知間死人鞋鋪俾對8號我... 求其試一試, 因為我平時都係著8號鞋, 所以實o岩, 冇睇清楚就俾錢. 呢兩日試跑... 有少少窄. 一睇之下... 嗚嗚嗚!!!

唔知係唔係個 sales 太有經驗, 一睇就知我係著8號.....

唉, 唯有用黎行街著啦. :(

Another pair of running shoes

When I jog more, I need another pair of shoes for interchange. So I get the Wave Elixir 2, at MK for $349. Nice price!



Thou I get mine at Wan Kee, I really would like to suggest Athletics Nation at MK. The boss is a really nice guy, and professional enough to give me many advise in choosing jogging shoes as well as my jog training. He is willing to continue advising me, even thou he knew I am not going to buy from them (Wave Inspire 3 is really ideal for me and my purpose, but I already have one pair. Wave Elixir 2 also suits me, but they don't have my size). The best thing is, the boss will tell me which model is not suitable for me, even I told him that I like the style... This is the second time I prepared to buy but can get what I wanted at Athletics Nation: the first time was when I shop for the Casio Heart Rate Monitor. Too bad.

34.8 C

I jogged this afternoon around 4:30, and when I back home the guard told me it is 34.8C today, the hottest day of this summer. But I actually feel very comfortable when J jog, thou the heart-rate was a little bit higher than night joggings.

Heart rate monitor interfered by hi-voltage power lines

When I first use my Casio heart-rate-monitor, I found it quite un-stable when I jog: it always discount itself, then re-connect when I jog.

When I tried more, I found that my HRM always discount at the same location everytime.... and that's when I was jogging close to the KCR railway line. Everytime when I was away from the railway line, the HRM worked just fine again.

I think the hi-voltage power lines of KCR interfered with the Casio. Does Polar have the problem?

Slow jog

When I first start jog, I finished 5600m at 41 min, then slowly improved to 38min.

I started to jog more frequently, and my timing can be around 32min for the same 5600m.

However, my heart rate was too fast for a 32 min finish. I tried to keep my heart rate below 162 last night, and my time went back to 38 min again.

I think it's the hot weather keep my heart rate high and slow jog.

Swim or Jog?

Today, I swam 47 mins for 1500m, and I measured my pulse (sorry, my Casio HR Monitor doesn't work in water), and HR was about 120. Just too low for exercising. Swimming also makes me very hungry, and I usually need to eat some afternoon tea after the session....

Easy my jog

Tried to further slow down my jog tonight, and I finished my normal 5600m at 36'47", approx 13-5% slower than my regular time. HR at 155-160, around 75%-80% intensity. Seems good.

But I have to peek my watch regularly and remind myself to slowdown.... probably i need more time to get use the the pace. Beside, I am still finding the best way to wear the chest belt.

Heart Rate Monitor problem

My rest heart rate is 58, and my calculated max. rate is 180. But even when I slowdown my jog tonight, my average rate is at approx 160bpm, max. rate is 17x, more than 90% of my max rate. At over 90% of heart rate, it should had been a very hard training for me.... but I felt very comfortable. So I am very puzzle: what's the problem? Is it possible that my max. heart rate is higher than the calculated estimate?

Another problem is, the Casio CHR100 interfered with my iPod. I have to switch-off the iPod to get an accurate reading on the CHR100. I will try to wear the iPOD on another arm to see what happen next time.

Heart Rate Monitor

Just get my Casio CHR-100 at MK tonight, tried out tonight. Oops.... no wonder I can't loss much weight by jogging: I was running too fast. My average HR tonight during a 34 min jog was 159 bpm, and I'm over trained at the anaerobic zone.

Let me check my rest heart rate tomorrow morning, and get a more clear heart rate zone.

又跑步

2 個星期冇跑, 感覺成日都好累, 又肥番幾磅...... 好, 的起心肝, 今晚去跑完. 感覺... excellent!!

不過早排係街邊買左隻30皮既爛膠錶諗住跑步計時用, 點個今晚想用黎跑步時發覺壞左... #$%*@(%%#........ 睇黎都係要去買呢隻Casio先得. 4百幾, 都幾抵...
